Opening "cw:" Error When Clicking or Building a Link in Connector
Problem:
Solution:
You can disable the error messages by making a minor change in the Windows Registry Editor. Before making any changes, the Registry should be backed up.
CAUTION: Be careful when making changes in the Registry Editor as editing or deleting files in this directory could disable your program or even your computer. Before proceeding, we recommend you read the following procedures through in their entirety.
To disable the Windows hyperlink error message:
1. Click Start and select Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type REGEDIT.
3. Click OK. The Registry Editor opens.
4. In the left pane of the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\Security
If you do not see a Security key under Common, you must create it.
5. To create a Security key, right-click on Common and select New.
6. Select Key.
7. Name the key Security.
8. When the Security key has been created, click on it to select it.
9. In the right pane of the Registry Editor, right-click anywhere.
10. Select New.
11. Select DWORD value.
12. Name the value DisableHyperlinkWarning.
13. Click on DisableHyperlinkWarning. The Edit DWORD Value dialog opens.
14. In the Value Data box, change the number from 0 to 1.
15. Click OK and close the Registry Editor.
To test whether the messages have been disabled, click on the links in your file.
